Spiraea Rainbow Fizz™ – Japanese Spirea is a compact, easy-care deciduous shrub admired for its vibrant, ever-changing foliage and bright summer blooms. New leaves emerge a coppery orange in spring, transition to yellow-lime with hints of red, and finally mature to bright green, offering a continuous display of color throughout the season. Clusters of soft pink flowers bloom in early to mid-summer, adding to the shrub’s appeal.
Growing 3 to 4 feet tall and wide, Rainbow Fizz™ thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. It’s drought-tolerant once established and is perfect for mixed borders, foundation plantings, and mass plantings. While not native to North America, its colorful foliage, adaptability, and compact form make it a favorite in ornamental landscapes.

Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea thrives in full sun for the best foliage color and flower production but can tolerate partial shade. It prefers well-drained soils and is adaptable to a variety of soil types, including clay and sandy soils. Once established, it’s drought-tolerant.
Rainbow Fizz™ typically grows 3 to 4 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, forming a compact, mounded shape. It’s ideal for low hedges, foundation plantings, borders, and mass plantings.
The standout feature of Rainbow Fizz™ is its color-changing foliage. New leaves emerge copper-orange, mature to lime green, and take on red tips in the fall. It also produces pink, fuzzy blooms in early to mid-summer that contrast beautifully with the colorful foliage.
Yes! The pink flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies, making it a pollinator-friendly addition to any landscape.
No, it’s low-maintenance. Prune it in late winter or early spring to maintain its shape and encourage new growth. Deadheading spent blooms can encourage a tidy look, but it’s not required. It’s also deer-resistant and generally pest- and disease-free.

We truly hate to pause things, but with the extreme heat and the holiday weekend, we’ve had to suspend all shipping until Monday, July 7th.
Right now, it’s just too hot for the plants to survive more than 48 hours in a shipping box, and we’d never want to send them out in conditions that could harm them.
We’re really sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your patience and for caring as much about these plants as we do.
