Adiantum pedatum (Northern maindenhair fern) is a Northeast native fern that enjoys growing in part to full shade in damp forests and ravine bottoms. It is clump-forming and spreads slowly by branching rhizomes. The frilly fronds are highly ornamental but may die back by mid summer if they doesn’t receive enough water or shade. The fiddleheads emerge pink.
